Sustainable Development

Defined by the UN Brundtland Commission (1987) as ‘meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.’ In 2015 the Millennium Development Goals were replaced with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which outline 17 goals – ‘a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all’ by 2030.
